my name is shane.I am overwieght.4 years ago I reached my highest weight of 430 lbs.(I am not pround of that at all)I have recently started walking again in march 08,then in april I started lifting weights again. In dec. of 07 I had my tonsils removed,It really didnt set well with me for 2 weeks of hell.I didnt eat anything at all hardly,It hurt so bad,but during them 2 weeks,I really prayed like I never have before.after losing weight from not eating much,It really triggered me to start dieting,I just started counting calories like the doc told me.To my amazement I was losing weight,I wasnt even exercising yet.In dec 07 I weighed 416. To day I am at a 369 and still going :) and my blood presure is finally geting better.I walk my dog everyday, and lift weights 3x a week.I feel so much better,It is a slow process butI really need to stick to it,I know thats the hardest thing to do"sticking to it"

Yes. I had my tonsils removed and it was the worst week of my life! The ear aches, the starvation, ugh! I couldn't eat anything, hardly could even drink water!I lost about 30lbs in two weeks from that, but I didn't have the will to keep it going like you did. Congrats on your weight loss thus far!

Congratulations on your success! I do agree that it is an arduous process, even tedious at times. Just keep steady and dedicated. That ensures it will become a habit and the weight will stay off. Small, gradual changes yield long lasting results. The turtle's approach pays off in the end.
