Hi! My name is Alyssia. I'm 18. And I weigh 233 pounds. I signed up at this site because, since I was little, I've steadily gained weight. Slowly enough that I never noticed it creeping up on me. I've had tough times in school, the typical treatment high school preps and jerks give, and now I'm going to college.
I want to lose weight. I'm at risk for diabetes, through my fathers side, and it is starting to impede on my life. I hate going out to get clothes (what teenager hates shopping?), I love fairs and rides, but am always scared I won't fit, and will have to walk out in front of all the people. And now, a new place is ahead of me. New people. I'm moving in Saturday (Four days from now) and it is a clean slate. I can't lose noticable weight before then, but I don't want people to remember me for the fat kid. I've got a bike, but I haven't rode often. I like to ride, but the seat can't stay up, (my leg stroke gets messed up) and my sit-bones hurt after a minute. Plus, I get winded going on flat ground for a block. Uphill? Maybe 20 feet. And I'm a short person. (5'1) Which makes getting up on the bike without tipping over a challenge.
I have tried to lose weight before. But I always let myself down. I can't do it alone. So, I signed up for this site. I hope it works. I want to ride more, go swimming, take a walk (which, due to foot problems, I can't really do much of unless I lose weight). I'm hoping a community of people who have and are going through what I am will help.

I aspire to be a Veterinarian.
I hope to get to know you.
