Hello guys,
To begin with, my weight is 120KGs, height is 170cm and age is 23 and I should probably point out I am a male, when I begin dieting, by dieting I don't mean any specific plans, just moderate eating (stop when you are feeling full), cut on sugar, tho I take a very small bite of chocolate after launch, basically avoid oily foods (not strictly), avoid junk food (strictly), drink a lot of water before my meals and thru out at the day, take 6 light meals a day, which 2 of the meals include fruits, change my general lifestyle, like using the stairs, walking around much more often, just casual walking, and doing much more chores in my office and house, changing from regular coke to diet coke, stop eating from fast food or outside food (strictly), I have managed to lose about 5KGs in a 3 weeks, and I am sure I wasn't heavy on myself, I was just self conscious about eating, because I just wanted to change my complete lifestyle and become much more healthy, now I lost 5KGs in 3 weeks, basically dropped down from 125kgs to 120, is that good or bad?

AND, I am planning to start gym tomorrow, I need some easy cardio plans, anyone can shed some light or provide links?

AND, tips, advices, inputs would be greatly appreciated,

Thanks

Welcome to the forum, Eric. Nothing of what you said sounds bad, but, I do have one question...

What do you mean when you say "outside food?" Does that mean food from restaurants, bars, food stands, etc?

Yeah, by outside food I meant fast food, restaurants and so on, because the place I live in is SERIOUSLY surrounded by "cafeterias" or basically, cheap fast food with lots of cheese and mayo.

Ahh, that makes sense. My hometown is like that too - lots of nearby places to eat. It's good that you're staying away though. Not that ALL restaurant food is bad, but people usually don't make the best choices when they eat out. I know I don't.

Hey Eric, welcome to the forum and congrats on the weight loss so far!

As for the cardio... what types of activities do you prefer?

the name game

My tip is change your screen name to EricTrimMan or something more positive so you don't defeat yourself mentally. Congratulations on your success so far.

I was going to suggest the same :D

I think if you can continue losing without getting into strict calorie counting and just being aware of what you consume it is a better strategy because it's more doable in your lifestyle. That being said, it may be a good idea to count what you are eating so if/when you do want to step it up then you know what you're starting with.

Well, considering I live in a small town, there isn't much activity to do really, but yesterday was my first day at gym, I walked (intense) for about 2.68kms, the speed was apparently 5km/h and incline was "2" (i don't know really know hows the measured) for 30 minutes, resulting in ~168 of calories burnt, I did cycling for 15 minutes (automated weight-loss program) for about 1.5kms with the speed is 6.5km/h, well I've dropped down futhure to 118kgs, for my first day, but I am sure I am going to bored pretty soon, any suggestions for cardio? Within 3 months time, there is a new club opening up, which has squash, tennis, swimming pool, sauna and all, but I guess Ill have to just make do with our local gym right now.

Affirmations are good to! There is a thread here somewhere with lots in it. Find one or two that hold some meaning for you and repeat them when you are needing some motivation. I second (or third - lol) changing your screen name to something more positive.

Definitely take advantage of that club. Find someone who's at your skill level at squash. Raquetball was the funnest sport I ever played, especially if it's with a friend.
