Hi there, I'm so excited about joining up. I weigh 160lbs and am only 5'2. I know I am not massively overweight but I was always slim until I piled on the weight at around 17 (I'm now 24). I'm a size 14 in clothes (UK). I would be quite fit and am a black belt in taekwondo. Normally I compete in the under 67kg group (147lbs) however I have not been training in a few months and have again put on weight. My life consists of me being either really really good and eating well and going to the gym most days, or the opposite, no training and living on junk food. I feel I am unable to achieve a balance. I work a 55hour week including nights and am also studying a masters so time is short and this is why I have fallen into a rut. I hate being over weight for me height and want to be fit and healthy and comfortable in my own skin. My goal is to get down to 138lbs but I really don't feel it's possible.

Welcome!

You were fit once, it can happen again. There are people who have never been fit in all their life and eventually achieved that goal.

Consider making small changes right now and ignore the big picture. You want to cut sugary drinks and replace them with water, walk instead of drive if you can and just keep yourself active in any way possible.

Making a huge change in your life can either be one big decision or many small ones. Some people are able to do everything right in one day and stick to it while most of us have to take it one step at a time.

Find a motivator for yourself if it helps. Some people think of how their significant other will enjoy having a slimmer partner, others think about the health benefits and some even just want to smile every time they see a mirror.
