I just wanted to say Hi to everyone. I’m new here of course. I began to try to lose weight in September 2007, but it seems like I’m gaining instead of losing. It’s hard to fight cravings and keep a regular work out schedule. I’m hoping that I can find a lot of support and idea's here.

I’m really interested in the challenges. What do I do, just jump in on the thread, or do I have to join a team? How do I join a team?

I’m going to read more of the newbie posts to see where I should begin.

Hey welcome. I'm new too, but I just jumped in there. I hear you about time. But I think even doing something when you have the time is better than doing nothing at all. I could be wrong, but a little is better than none, right?

WELCOME!!! About the challenges.. I am rather new too, but if you just read specific ones they will tell you wether or not there is a start/end date and if theres teams and what not! They all seem to be different so the best thing to do would be read into the ones that you are interested in and then you should be able to find out the info.. and if you cant figure it out after reading them, then just post a thread on that challenge forum and ask!!! Good Luck!

Hi Morgie!

And welcome to the forum. I really understand about the time thing. I agree with carpedebass.......even a little bit helps. It is better than doing nothing. I know that when working out, it can be a little hard to find alot of time during the day to devote to a really good workout to yourself.

Good Luck!

Something that I read recently in Men's Health that I thought was interesting... The study was that when people didn't eat right a given day, they were much more likely to not work out that day. Do you think this pattern fits you somewhat?

I do have a lot of time for working out now that my kids are in school. I think not eating right may have a lot to do with me gaining instead of losing weight. That, and I don't stick to it. Ill do it for two weeks take a week off and then try to get back into the habit again. This is usually because of something that came up. One of the kids are sick so I can't work out, or just all the things that need to be done over the holidays. I can make so many excuses, Im good at making excuses. I just want to get in the habit of eating healthy and exercising regularly. If everything works out perfectly I do go to the gym, even the mornings that I just want to go back to sleep when the kids get to school. Once they are gone, I end up making myself go even if I make myself a really good excuse.

I read somewhere that if you are not getting proper sleep that you might not be able to lose weight as easily. My doctor thinks I have sleep apnea, and I do have a lot of the symptoms.

Im sure it all adds up to what I am....
