Hi there everyone.
Where to begin... on October 8th of 2007 I went to the doctor and was surprised that he came back and said I was 392 lbs. I figured that I was closer to 350 but was genuinely shocked into action.
As of today I weigh in the mid 230s, having lost probably 170? 180? lbs. from my heaviest (I was heavier before I went to the doctor and had cut out soda weeks before, but I don't know by how much).
I'm in an odd place right now because I don't really know anybody who's gone through something similar on this level. I have not had surgery, but I guess I am one of those lucky people who are able to shed like there is no tomorrow. I'm 32 years old, male and almost 5-foot-8.
I currently strength train 3 days a week and excersize nearly every other day, usually running/power walking with some cycling thrown in. I am pretty good about maintaining my diet, in a realistic way and have obviously figured out the system for getting myself there.
This week I started amping up my running a bit and have been discouraged by the fact that I have been hovering at 4-7lbs. higher than my low of 231 that I hit almost two weeks ago, despite no noticeable change. I have been on plateaus before obviously but am somewhat discouraged by my body's reluctance to "get over itself". Also the skin issue is now starting to become bothersome.
Anyways, I thought I would introduce myself and my experience and see if anybody had any suggestions for getting over these hurdles.
