Hello I just joined a gym today with my Dh. I am wanting to lose 20 pounds by July 20th ( thats my goal) I am 29 years old and 206 pounds right now *I recently gained over 20 pounds due to medication I have to take*

I went to the gym tonight and did 30 minutes and it wore me the plum out! I want to try to go for atleast 30 minutes a day and watch what I eat. Will this be enough to lose weight? or will I need to do more then 30 minutes a day? I dont know if I CAN do more then 30 a day. When I say it wore me out it wore me out lol!!! I am sure i'll work up to it but not sure how fast that will go due to health problems.

I worked on the treadmil and bike today and did 60 leg presses.

Hope to get to know everyone!!

Welcome aboard. :)

Be careful with how much you start out doing with your exercise. It's far too common to watch someone push too hard in the beginning it burn themselves out.

I understand the mentality.... they want to get in there and start out with a 'bang.'

But it's really not conducive to what you're trying to do. It's better to start out comfortably and focus on gradually progressing the intensity.

Also, you ask if it will be enough......

The answer to that question will come primarily from what your nutrition looks like. You can't out exercise a bad diet. Exercise, especially cardio, is simply icing on the cake. Or the roof of the house if you will. The diet is the dough or the foundation respectively.
