Hello Hello

Heya,
I'm new around here and thought I'd introduce myself. I'm a 19 Year Old male, Just under 6 foot, I'm cursed with a 5,11'' and 3/4 Height. *shakes fist* Currently at 209 pounds. I started changing the way that I eat about 2 weeks ago and since have lost between 12-15 pounds. Don't think I'm doing it the healthiest way, and I'd like to improve my diet.
Currently, I have a cereal for breakfast, A fruit a couple hours later. Usually a turkey sandwich and an apple or banana for lunch, and sometimes I'll just snack on some nuts or other fruit for dinner. My work hours are weird and I usually don't get home until after 8 pm. Which isn't the ideal time to eat a big dinner. I drink water constantly, and with work I'm constantly outside. I recently bought a Giant Mountain Bike and believe it will be the key to my weight loss. Rode 5 miles this morning, but it took a lot out of me.

Any suggestions or corrections would be great.
And thank you for having me on here :)
You guys are infinitely inspirational, the before and after pictures are just amazing.

Hi Jneumann
12-15 lbs loss in a couple of weeks is a bit much. I would modify your loss a bit. It doesnt have to be written in stone, so adjust as necessary.
Your diet sounds good...as long as...

Your cereal breaky is a healthy cereal...not sugary. I like oatmeal now and use some berries and low fat milk to make it pallitable for me.

As long as your not hungry with your fruit snack, thats fine. Myself, I have some protein with my first snack or I wont be comfortable come lunch.

Your lunch does sound great. Use whole grain bread instead of white and watch out for the butter mayo etc. Other than that, yum.

I would snack a bit before dinner and eat a healthier dinner.....some protein, some carbs, and good fat.

You got lots of room to adjust your calories if you are finding it hard. Remember...what your doing is gonna last forever if you want it to. So enjoy doing it.

Good start! Congrats!

Hey, thanks man
The cereal is always a healthy cereal, I cut out the Lucky Charms a long time ago :) And I rarely use white bread, it's usually a wheat or oat bread. I've been adding it up and my intake for the day is usually at, or under 1000 calories. Thinking I may need to up it a bit, with a healthy dinner.

Your program is not good. You should be closer to 2000 calories than 1000. Eating that little will cause you to lose more muscle than you want to, will cause your metabolism to slow down, and will make it hard to get the nutrients you need. The biking is good, but you should also do some resistance training to preserve as much lean muscle mass as possible. Read the stickies on weight lifting.
