Hi everyone,
I'm Mike and I'm new on here.

First, let me start off by saying that earlier in the year, I was at 280 pounds. I managed to lose about 40 through diet and exercise. I am now sitting at about 242 (although this number is actually lower but my salt intake has been horrible the past few days). My ultimate goal is to get to 190 pounds by the end of August, but I would be happy if I made it to 200. I'm going to be doing the exact same thing I was doing before to lose weight, but felt I needed a little extra support in the next stretch. Losing weight for me will be very beneficial because I am a student pilot, and although I have my medical certificate already, it will need to renewed in a couple of years. As well, a huge family vacation in planned for Summer of 2011 down to Mexico, so I would like to have a flat stomach :hurray:

I will post some pics soon, maybe after I lose a few pounds.

Welcome, Mike.

Sounds like you're off to an excellent start. And it seems like you have some great factors to motivate you. Just make sure this is about the long-term. It's a fact that most people are able to lose loads of weight. Keeping it off... now that's a different matter all together.

Make sure your methods of weight control are as natural and comfortable as can be b/c if the weight is going to be controlled permanently, the methods need to be permanent as well.

You are on your way. You did not say how old you are but, I really respect what you are doing. I am interested in a couple things:

Which aspect of your program do you think has paid off more for you - diet or exercise?

Which aspect of this program did you think was going to be more important.
