So Hi,

im Juggy. Im 37 in like 2 weeks. Im currently sitting at 233lb's and feeling very uncomfortable and worried about my future. So here goes.

Line in the sand is drawn, this far an NO Further.
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

My plan is to start walking at least 3 times a week for at least 20 mins a time. Im VERY unfit and think that given my weight and stress on my ankles I think this should be a good start.

So Today im actually off work sick with a cold and bad asthma so will do me good to get out tonight even if its only for 20 mins, I have chosen a flat walk around a lake local to me. I have an audio book on so bordom should be an issue, and it will not feel like im trying. Sounds strange but i think it what i need. Everytime I actually try and loose weight I bomb after 2 days! So now im going to enjoy what i do I get fit along the way.

So 233lbs is my heaviest my first goal is 21st somthing. so 6lbs should do it. want to be there by my birthday in 2 1/2 weeks.

Come say hi.

So 233lbs is my heaviest my first goal is 21st somthing.

I am confused.... What is your weight in stones and pounds?

If your minigoal is to be under 22 stone - then is it possible that you have miscalculated your weight in pounds?

233 pounds is 16 stone 9 pounds.

22 stone 5 pounds is the same as 313 pounds (you speak of being 21st something in 6 pounds time).

I know that I looked out for all the half stone boundaries on my way down. We cannot help but always think of our weight in stones first - and translate later.

Either way - welcome to the forum. Walking is a fantastic form of exercise - I found it really helped my weightloss for me to go out walking every day - and although I walk quickly now - I most certainly didnt at 21 stone....

Well seems I cannot do stone to lbs conversions! :) 333lb!!! ;) 22Stone 5lbs

233lbs would be nice but thats next year!

Thanks for the nice words! :)

Lots of us understand stones and pounds here. LOL - I have been educating lots of friends from all around the world on the subject for the past two years.

I think that everyone finds it tricky at first.

I found the weight loss of Charlie Walduck highly inspirational. He has been on This Morning television program a number of times. If you havent heard of him you should google his name.

To convert x stone y pounds to pounds you say
x multiplied by 14 plus y

Therefore 22 stone 5 pounds is
22 multiplied by 14 plus 5 = 308 + 5 = 313 pounds

The great thing about thinking in stones and pounds and coming to the forum where most people deal in pounds is that you get twice as many milestones to celebrate.

You cannot help noticing and celebrating when you hit all the half stone boundaries. Then everyone wants to party when you hit 10 pound boundaries. Then you notice when you have lost say half a stone, a stone etc. Then everyone agrees that losing 10 pounds, 20 pounds etc is worth celebrating. Throw in the parties when you change clothes size (I am only 5ft3 so came down from UK size 32 to size 10) and cross BMI boundaries. I swear - looking back over the time that I was losing weight my now abandoned diary seemed to be one long forum party...

All the celebrations helped me keep at it as the next one was always just a few pounds away. Already I can see that you should be celebrating getting to 22st1 as that is under 310 pounds. Then 21st13 is another party waiting to happen.

thanks for the advice, I see lots of celebrations in my future. ;) been too long in coming this has.

Its life changing. I woke up the other morning and found that I had to loose this weight, its not a wish anymore, not even a strong desire. Its my only goal. My marrage of 3 years is ending and I need to find myself and move my life forward and I know without a doubt that this is my future.

Thanks again...

Many of us feel the same when we get going. I was severely morbidly obese for over 20 years.

That focus and obsession with weight loss will work in your favour and help you to get to where you want to be. It will take a lot of hard work - but you have to really believe that with unswerving determination and constant hard work - the reward is there to be had for you.

Sorry to hear about the marriage break up. Such things are never fun.
