hi everyone. I'm really looking forward to meeting the regulars around here!

so, about me; since I started college I gained about 10 pounds. It's not too bad, because that puts me at 130 at 5'5. Yes I know, I can see eyes rolling and people muttering "well poor you". But it's scary that it's out of my control, and if I don't nip it in the bud now it'll just escalate.
I miss being really thin and energetic, like I was when I weighed 119 pounds. I wouldn't mind just replacing some of that with muscle tone, either.

so recently I started eating better and taking a brisk walk every day. (want to build that up to jogging/running later). I'm basically looking to get to know people in the same shoes as me, gather ideas for healthy foods and so on.

After switching to wholegrain bread and cereal, yoghurt and lo carb durum wheat pasta, I kinda ran out of ideas. what else can I eat that's good and fun?

Hey and welcome.

Yes, I admit I was jealous when you said you were at 130lbs (my target is 140 at the mo!) but that is always the way, all things are comparative, and it depends what weight you are comfortable (and healthy) at.

Everybody's tastes are different but I have gradually found a few things that I like to eat that are ok for my weight loss.

I buy grapes and cherry tomatoes and eat them like sweets if I want something strong tasting to pick at. I also make up sugar-free jelly... it's only about 40cals for a whole pint of it. That also gives me that sweet taste that I want and I find it quite filling as well.

I have also started having corn-on-the-cob for meals sometimes (I get the frozen bags with them in) because I love sweetcorn and I find I feel fuller on less of it with the cob-pieces... probably because it takes longer to eat them. (Physcological eh!) Quick and easy to cook, too.

But as I said, everyone is different, you might not find any of those things appealing. :)

Hi sprite :)

well I'm jealous that you're more than halfway there on your ticker whereas I haven't made a dent :p then again, I only just started.

yeah, it's definitely subjective.. for me, this is the heaviest I've ever been, which is shocking to me. Sure, according to BMI calculators my weight is perfectly healthy, but I don't feel well, nor do I feel confident. I do like the boobs that came with it, though!

so what's in the jelly instead of sugar? and how do you prepare the corn? I quite like corn.. just never know what to do with it.

Hey Tiay,

I am an inch taller with a ten pound more problem. ;) I am 143 trying to get down to 125. I know exactly what you mean.

I have less energy than I did at the lower weight, and am trying to not only lose the weight but start being all around healthier.
