Hello everyone! My name is Jenna and I am striving to achieve a "pin-up" look. I am 5'8" and currently around 165 lbs after losing 22 :)

I, however, have some problems and need help staying on track. I am a college student (just turned 21) and am hurting for money. My lack of dinero dents my healthy, organic diet tremendously. I do not have a job that supplies me with enough income, ($120 weekly) so I am currently searching for another. In the meantime, I try to work out atleast twice a day and eat a generally healthy, well-portioned diet. Unfortunately, I live with my boyfriend and another friend and we have people over almost every night. What does that mean in man language? PIZZA! TACO BELL! MCDONALDS! EVERYTHING JENNA ISN'T ALLOWED TO EAT! And to make matters worse, when I DO cook, I need to either fry everything or I'm not allowed to use any vegetables per my boyfriend. I have to put in an extra effort to make things healthy for myself. Frustrating is an understatement. Lately, between school and some recent drama BS, I haven't felt like cooking or eating-- this turned my whole world upside-down. I'm trying to get myself back on track with everything and anything possible, so joining a forum is one of the things I chose to do.

Any suggestions and advice is greatly appreciated!

THANK YOU! <3

Hello Jenna!

Hope your day is F.A.N.T.A.S.T.I.C

To transform your body in a positive way you MUST have a concern for 3 elements:

1.Supportive Nutrition
2.Aerobic exercise
3.Resistance exercise

If any one of these 3 components is missing, or if you have them in the wrong oder you will be limited at best. Apply them correctly you become the sculptor and your body the clay... you'll have complete control!

This message only focus on the Nutrition element, an element that eludes most folks!

Every 3-3.5 hours, try to ingest a lean protein, a starchy carb, and a fibrous carb, in meals free from simple sugars, free from refined carbohydrates, and low in fats. Eating in this manner will boost metabolism, stablize blood sugar, optimize energy, burn fat and giving your body the optimal fuel it needs to rebuild itself.

LEAN PROTEIN: egg whites, cod, shellfish, marlin, tofu, flank steak, chicken breast shrimp, salmon, sushi/sashimi, cobia, grouper, fat-free dairy products, turkey breast, lobster, sword fish, halibut, wahoo, mahi-mahi.

STARCHY CARBOHYDRATES: potato, brown rice, sweet potato, oatmeal, cream of rice cereal, jasmin rice, peas, corn tortillas, corn, basmati rice, couscous. amaranth.

FIBROUS CABOHYDRATES: broccoli, asparagus, green peppers, cabbage, celery, red peppers, cabbage, parsley, hijiki, zucchini, leeks, kelp, apple, onions, carrots, yellow peppers, string beans, kale, jerusalem artichoke, scallions, romain lettuce, turnips, arugula, sweet & hot peppers, cauliflower, spinach, cucumbers, mushrooms, turnips, bokcoy, okra, alfalfa sprouts, radishes, summer squash.

(This is a short list. With your new knowledge I want you to keep adding to this list)

- Cookig oil should include: olive, canola, peanut, pam cookin spray.

- You can prepare meals by grilling, steaming , baking, sauteing, boiling.

Breakfast Samples

In a restaurant:

Egg white omelet, cooked in very little oil (or preferably in a non-stick pan with no oil...not all that likely in restaurants) with green peppers, mushrooms, and onions with a side of oatmeal.

At home if you only have a few minutes in the morning:
Cream of rice cereal mixed with vanilla protein powder and cinamon

Ok, that's it about food!

Stay fit, lean and healthy!

I hear you on the no money front, girl. I live with my boy and 4 other guys right now and eating healthy on a budget AND with the pressure to eat crap is HARD! Even if you *know* what you gotta do, it's hard to put it into practice. Congrats on the 22lbs--You obviously know what you're doing. Cut down on eating the crap at home, get your boy and room-mate on board with your diet (at least their support to not let you eat rubbish) and keep up with the exercising :)

We have a diary section on this forum--Might be an idea to join their to share ideas and experiences on your journey! Good luck xxx
