Hello from a newbie

I just joined this forum, looking for some advice and encouragement along this journey I've decided to undertake...losing weight....:waving:.

The last time I lost any significant weight was after having surgery, several years ago, and the doc removed a mass about the size of a basketball (he says). At that time, in about 8 months, I was able to go from a size 22 dress to size 10/12. Slowly, however, over the past few years, I've gained some of that back, currently wearing a size 18. I would like to do that again. I know being a little older (52) will make things a little more difficult, but I'm not one to blame my age for anything...so any help, encouragement or words of wisdom will be greatly appreciated.

Hey Leoqueen. I guess I'm new too this forum. Although I have been lurking for months. (Guess I got up the courage to finally make my first post). Anyway, I've been trying to lose weight too. It's just so hard when you got no one to keep pushing you. So like you, I'm hoping that people will keep motivating me. I know, some of the stories I've read are so inspiring. :) Hope one day I can do the same for others too.

its really inspiring what u are trying to do.. i am also a newcomer here.. i have started working out from yesterday and the support that i have received from here is amazing.. you have come to the right place to be motivated...

as some one from this forum told me yesterday.. Keep your chin and take it from a day at a time:D.. you'll make it..

you can also start writing journals and keep a progress ticker...

really looking forward to seeing your progress.. :)

Take a look at the stickies and they will point you out into the right direction to start.
Best advice I have is to start with making the diary and listing everything you eat. It really opens your eye at what you're putting in. Then set a gaol for were you'd like to be in a year or so. Try to make it realistic and acheivable, and factor in that there will be times when you are above and below your goal, and that things happen and if you eat wrong one day, just pick back up the next and keep going. also, fill out the questioneer in the stickies about your goals and post it and you'll get some great advice!
