Hello...From A Newbie!!!

Hello,

I just wanted to introduce myself. My name is Vicky and I am 272lbs. I just started eating balanced meals again and walking for 30 minutes on the treadmil each day. I am following a low fat, low calorie, healthy eating plan. My goal is to stick to 1500 calories a day. I have done this in the passed and did very well. This time, I am making it a lifestyle change not a diet.

Right now, it is very important for me to lose the weight. For, I am still mourning the death of my mother and I don't want to gain more weight. So far, I have gained 15lbs in 7 months. It was due to stress of fighting with doctors, planning a funeral, finding the right malpractice lawyer, and the lost of my best friend; my mom. So, I do need a lot of help.

It has been 3 months since she died. And, the transition from full time caregiver to living a normal lifestyle has been devastasting. So, to add insult to injury I decided to boldy stepped on the scale. I felt horrible that I have let myself gain 15lbs. But, I know I must do something about this. One of my mother's desire for me was to see me lose my weight and get back in the upper 120's weight range. I am losing the weight for myself first, my mother second, and thirdly to acheived my life long dream conquering obesity.

Anyway, I look forward to getting to know you guys... :)

Welcome to WLF. Its wonderful that your viewing this journey as a lifestyle change rather than a diet and that your doing it for yourself first:)

You should start a diary... its a great place to let us get to knwo you and for you to keep track of your food and exercise. There is a great community of people here with tons of support and advice... they're fun too.

Thanks Kristy.. My mother was a great woman, with the biggest heart for people. I miss her greatly.

It's a hard road to take when it comes to losing pounds. I know I will have to set myself up for success. This is the only way I will survive it all. At least, that's how I feel right now.
