I am new in here and wanted to say hello...

I am looking to connect with some people that maybe also involved in what I am trying to do...

Here goes I am in my late fifties and have noticed that I'm in need of building muscle I have noticed my skin flabby.

I started going to a gym and have a work out for my arms and also do cardio for 30 minutes ...this is probably going to take me a little time I have not done this physical work out for years...


Is anyone in here have a routine they are doing that is working for them...?

..I am in my 50's also - and definately am finding that "muscle" is not a given anymore- it's starting to disappear - need to work at just keeping what I do have.......

...I'm still really heavy ( starting working on weight loss in August) - so am just doing walking outside & treadmill indoors for now- til more weight off - then will start some toning work.

- Walking daily - have found my cardio has improved already - even just 3 months into it..... so for me- making my exercise a DAILY routine is working ... I find the intensity doesn't have to be extreme- but being sure to do it Daily seems to be the trick !

Yes I would agree. I am glad someone else has the same issues as I do.

I have not been one to work out in years and it is catching up with me.

I get on the treadmill daily myself for 30 minutes..

good work on the Treadmill - that's great ( as well as your gym workouts).- I'm sure you'll be seeing improvement...


~ there are lots of folks on this site with similar challenges and many different approaches - successes, failures - much we can learn from each other...

Hey Deb, welcome to the forum! Have you taken a look at the Weight Loss Diary section? Keeping track and having others provide encouragement and advice can be a great way to stay consistent!
