Hello all. I decided to join the forum to get some tips on anything related to weight loss. I have always been heavy since I was young and my weight has went up and down throughout the years. A few years ago I lost 80 pounds in about 4 and a half months by eating better and exercising. Unfortunately, I had gained it all back in the past few years. I now understand that losing all that weight in a short amount of time is not the right way to lose weight. About 2 months ago after getting a new scale and seeing that I am back at my heaviest weight I decided to give it another try. So far I have lost 10 pounds and I feel much better about my weight loss than I did the first time I tried. I workout 4-5 times a week for about 45 minutes each workout on an elliptical my wife and I bought for the home. After reading some threads I know this is going to be a great place to get any information I need on weight loss.

Hello and welcome to the forum.

Great work on your weight loss so far. I wish you luck in reaching your goal - keep up the good work.

Welcome aboard! The best thing to do is to not even get on the scale for at least 2 weeks or more. The reason for this is because it could have such a huge effect on the mental aspect of weight loss, especially if you have gained a couple of pounds.

Concentrate more on how your clothes feel, but more importantly how you feel. Find different things that you can use to keep you motivated over the long term. If one thing stops motivating you...quickly switch it to something else.

You have made a great choice in choosing this forum!
