Hey, I'm new here. I just started my weight loss plan today. I'm a 39 year old male, 5'10" and 200 lbs. Want to get to 170. My plan is to stay around 1600 calories per day coming in. I hit the treadmill 3-4 times per week as well for walking/jogging. Any advice or encouragement would be great!

Anyone counting calories who has an iPhone should download "Lose It". It's free and is really great for counting calories coming in, as well as logging exercise and counting calories burned. Great tool.

Welcome to the forum and best of luck with your endeavour, there are plenty of inspiring threads around this site packed full of information and real examples of weight loss, this place has certainly helped kick start me off on the right foot. See you out there.
 
Looks like you got it susses my man. Keep at it, take each day as it comes and you'll get there. Don't expect massive results and then each week you will be pleasently surprised I imagine.
 
I've also started the c25k program this week. Has anyone else ever done this or is currently doing it? It seems like it should work well, there is a 5k in nine weeks that I am targeting to run in.
