Just wanted to give out a hello.

I've always been a pretty big guy, I wouldn't exactly call myself "fat" but I do carry around some extra poundage. I workout quite a bit, but I've noticed that since I past thirty-five the excess baggage around the middle seems to be expanding a little quicker.

since I seem to have trouble controlling myself when it comes to my diet I figured it might be wise to join a community for some support, that's how I ended up here!

Glad to be aboard and I'm really looking forward to getting to my goal with the help and resources that I find here.
 
Welcome aboard mate. If you're looking for some accountability, you'd probably be best served starting yourself a journal. It's a nice way to meet new people, track your ups and downs, and let others see what you're doing.

I'd also suggest checking out the stickies found at the tops of the various subforums.

I feel like I'm in the same boat as you... The only difference being that I'm female, and the metabolism thing starts waning a little earlier for women than men. I am also looking for a bit of accountability, and I realize I look decent, it's more about how I feel carrying around this extra weight- 15 pounds or so. I'm glad there is someone else trying for a similar goal. I wish you the best!

I've already found quite a good bit of info in the "stickies", and I have considered starting a journal for some concrete acountability, that seems like the best way to gage progress on the journey to my goal.

I keep a workout log and have noticed more positive results since starting it, so doing the same for my diet seems like a logical next step.
