Hi there!

I just joined this site like 5 minutes ago. I'm so excited to get in touch with others who are striving to better themselves, just like me. I'll admit, I only started dieting and exercising again about a week ago, but one day at a time right? I'm really trying to get down to my goal weight by the time I graduate from college, and I have to face all of my out of town family again lol. I'm looking to make friends and find a support group. Good luck to everyone!!

Hello Jessifreehugs...

Welcome... There is alot of great support and great people on this board. Everyone is so positive and you could always see other peoples results... Some people have really kicked butt on here. Well welcome and good luck on reaching your goals. How much do you have to lose? Just curious.

Welcome to the forum. I can tell you from experience that I have really done well for myself because of this forum. There are so many people here who give me such motivation and inspiration. I honestly think without them I would have failed. I am finally losing weight and I wish you the best of luck getting to your goal weight.

I'm looking to lose about 75 pounds by next Fall. I'm a year behind in school, so I won't graduate until next Christmas. I weigh 235 now, so that seemed like a reasonable goal for a year from now. I really want to get down to somewhere around 140, but I'm not looking for miracles right yet lol. Great job on the progress so far Natasha and englangrover, I can't wait for my numbers to go down too! I'm going to get one of those spiffy weight ticker things eventually. Thanks so much to both of you for your greetings, and good luck!

I started out at 235 also. It took me about 2 mos to lose the first 20 pounds so I don't think you should have any problem getting to your goal weight. Thanks for your comments as well. If I can help you with anything please let me know. I'll be checking in on you and I'm lookin forward to seeing your progress. Take care.

Welcome!

I started at about the same weight, a little more. I've lost close to 75 pounds so far, another 10 to go. You can do it!

Hi Jessi.....

Hey neighbor! I live in southern La as well! Hammond is such a cute college town! I've visited friends over there a few times and have loved it. I'm from Lafayette. How did y'all do for the last two hurricanes?

Well, I look forward to being a part of your journey and seeing your progress. The best way to get started around here is to start a journal so you can see your progress. Post your goals, successes and bumps in the road....or really whatever you want. It's fun to look back later to see what works and what doesn't. And it helps us to get to know you!

See you around!

I did ok during both storms, just lost power and some trees in the yard for Gustav, and wasn't really phased by Ike. Flooding around where I work from Ike was a little scary, but no biggy overall. How did you fare over in Lafayette?

I definitely will take your advice on starting a journal to track my progress and stuff. Thanks for adding me, I'm excited to have new friends that are sharing such an important life change. Good luck with everything!

OMG, I know what you mean about seeing family and friends from back home. Looking great is always the best revenge... I mean feeling. :smilielol5:

We did alright for the hurricanes as well. The worst thing that happend was losing power, which is minor compared to the devistation of others like in Baton Rouge and Texas. Glad you did alright! And we're excited you are here too. It's always amazing to see people taking charge of their lives and becoming healthier day by day. Oh, and I looked at your myspace page...you're gorgeous, girlie!

Thanks!

It's official, pastelroses is my favorite person today lol. It never hurts to be called gorgeous! You're quite the hottie yourself missy. That 20 pounds made a huge difference, you look great!
