Hello Everyone!

I was doing some searching today on TJ (Turbo Jam) and i came across this site. I think I've been spending the last 2 hours just reading everything and I wanted to say HI.
My name is Carrie, I'm 31, 5'10 and 210lbs. I have been working really hard over the passed few months trying to get back to 160 and using turbo jam and the gyms treadmill I've managed to loose inches, but not necessarily weight. So after reading this forum for hours, I have been rather inspired and wanted to join, and say THANKS! And i look forward to many more hours of reading etc. :=)

Thanks! I'm actually really excited I found it. Most of my friends are exer-fobes and already skinny or fit, etc. Its hard to find someone to help keep me motivated as a single person I'm simply working on me for me! I think this site will give me a little boost!

Welcome Carebr. Is that as in Care Bear????? :p

It sounds like you are already on the right track with exercise. And now you've found our little family.

We're glad you are here.

Definatley on the right track, I do get frustrated from time to time. As certain areas just don't seem to go away like others do. For instance, I have lost inches in my waist to a 16, but my Butt/lower hips just haven't budged so i still find myself in 18s. Its rather annoying and I know it will happen eventually if i keep up with my diet and exercise.

Yes its is Care Bear, its been my nick name since i was 5 years old. :=) MEEP MEEP!

Welcome, Care Bear! How cute! What a great nickname!

Have you tried Pilates to lose actual inches around your hips and thighs? It's great for whittling a waistline as well as shaping buttocks, hips and thighs.

Just a suggestion...good luck, sweets!

No i haven't touched Pilates believe it or not. I got into the Tae Bo basics DVD first and loved it. Once my mom saw how much i liked it she borrowed it and well turbo jam is the only thing I have kept up with. Its great for my waist and i can tell its working but the thighs just aren't budging as i said. Any particular Pilates dvd i should look into? I'm willing to try just about anything. So i definatley appreciate the suggestion! :=)

No problem! I happen to love Gaiam's Pilates series, which you can get at Target. The company's website will give you a lot of information.

You'll love the instructor, Ana Caban. Amazing and her body is SICK! WHAT?!?!

If you're hitting Target, I would also suggest a total kickass workout: Crunch's Fat Burning Pilates DVD. That's a great DVD. You'll love it and it works FAST.

I think I was reading something the other day about drinking carbonated beverages and the width of a woman's hips. I'll see if I can find it and I'll send it over to ya!

**HUGS** Good luck, hon!:)

WOOT Thanks! I don't tend to drink carbonated beverages other then 1 on Sat (my free day) but i used too, I would go througha 6 pack of pepsi a day! I know gross huh! I'll be hitting target tomorrow, see if i can't find it. Thank you so much!

You and I are very very close in weight, we are the same size and you are only 1 inch taller than I am!! :) Anyway, I have a pilates dvd that i got form Windsor Pilates and it's specifically for your bun and thighs. It's only 20 min but it totally kicks your butt!!! Hope it helps! :)

At this point every bit of advice helps. And even 20min is great, since i don't have too much time on my hands. The evenings i get off i use for tapes/dvds etc. So I'm thinking about twitching out my TJ for the Pilates a few nights a week. We'll see how it works out.
