Hello, everyone!

Just wanted to stop in and introduce myself. I've been lurking for a while and finally decided to join today. I'm a 38 year old mother of one, and I've been from one end of the scale to the other. lol At my highest weight I was 185 pounds. We moved to the Texas coast and I decided if I was going to enjoy living on the beach, I was going to have to do something. I ate right and exercised my way down to 130. I looked and felt great. Then my FIL got sick and my health goals were put on the back burner. I'm back up to 165 and pretty put out with myself. I'm ready to get back in the saddle, though... I WILL be a hot 40 year old! ;)

Anyway, on Monday I started the You: On a Diet plan (YOAD). If you're not familiar with it, you cut out added sugars, HFCS, white flour and processed foods- basically anything not in its natural form. You eat lots of fruits, veggies, lean meats and seafood, extra fiber and drink lots of water. I've been doing my elliptical machine between 20-30 minutes each evening, and I already feel like a different person. I'm sleeping better, I'm not constantly thinking about food and I just feel "lighter". I'm really excited about getting back into a healthy way of life. I hope to meet some like-minded people here to share the ups, downs, and ultimately success with!

Welcome aboard! :)

I look forward to getting to know you and watching you progress.

Hey, I know this diet. Isn't this the one from Dr. Oz? Sounds like a good plan. Welcome to the forum and good luck.

That's the one. Thank you for the welcome. :) I'm trying to figure out how to get my ticker on here so I can see my progress. I've lost 3 pounds this week... I'm sure it's water weight as I haven't had ANY added salt or sugar this week, but it is encouraging.

Hey and welcome.

I am not familiar with that diet plan but if you're feeling better already it sounds like you're set to see some progress. :)

For the ticker, follow the instructions in the thread here in the newcomers section...if you haven't already. Make sure when you copy and paste the code to put it in the big box...the one that looks like you should be typing a post in it. :)
