Hello everyone,
I'm new to these boards and I've come asking for a bit of help.
First, a little bit about myself. I'm a 26 year old man living in New York City. I lead what seems to be the typical lazy American life style. Recently, I went to see my doctor for my yearly check up and my doctor called me back after analyzing my urine and blood samples and said "Freddy, you're a mess. You have to get your crap together or it's gonna get bad down the road." To be honest, I never really worked out. I occassionally went to the gym on again and off again but never really had the dedication nor the drive. The only thing I really do that can be counted as exercise is that I walk alot. My doctor told me the only reason I'm not a fat slob is because of the fact that I walk everywhere. I don't eat right. I do drink alot of water. Now I know alot of people probably come to these forums at this time every year with their new years resolutions to lose weight and all that good stuff but when a doctor tells you you're gonne be in trouble if you don't shape up, it's kind of a wake up call. I was just wondering how to go about changing my diet (the right things to eat, drinks, etc), how everyone on here stays so motivated and maybe help figure out a workout program for me.
What I'm looking to do in the gym is take my fat and turn it into lean muscle. I'd like to be completely solid. Even though I'm a lazy schmo, I firmly believe in the saying "go hard or go home". I'm gonna dedicate myself to getting into better shape just need a few helpful hints on how to get started.
I really appreciate you taking the time out to read this and I hope everyone is enjoying the holidays.
Thanks,
Freddy
