Hello everyone, new fat guy here

Hey people, I've finally decided to get myself back in shape. Why? Because I just got nightmare comment 2 days back from a friend who met me 4 months later saying "You've become too fat". Now, no matter what I'm committed this time and I'm ready to do everything, I've started jogging 2 miles every morning, I've not run at all just walking since two days, will start running after a week.
And I'm also planning to hit the gym. I have no idea about food and what should I eat, I love eating but don't like veggies. Okay enough about me, I'll read around to get tips and MOTIVATION because that's what I need.

Welcome man, im new here too :)
best of luck mate.
2 miles every morning? how long does that take you?

Thanks and good luck to you too, an hour or so, 2 miles is just a guess could be less judging by the car's meter, the track is specially made for jogging and has soft ground, you love it every time you step on it. ;)

C-Mayhem: Thank you :) I'm new to this "diet" term and that's the reason I joined here. Any good "get started" guide?

I'm already impressed by some of people who have posted their pictures and have improved alot. I just wish I don't lose motivation. And good news! I said no to dinner and I'll just go to bed early :) nm

Just give a detailed description of what you are eating currently, try to include times. That is the easiest way for people to get you on the right track.

yea ive got a running track right outside my house, i guess im kinda lucky and i think its time for me to use it more. losing motivation is the main concern for me ><
ha but i jus take a look at people's progress pics n that give me a boost ;)

Thanks man I'll do that, hopefully get some good advice.

Mkvenner: O you are lucky, I have to go by car though the track is just less than a mile away from my home since the main road (ultra fast moving cars) won't let me cross by foot. Why am I too shy to take my own photo? Even though I know no one will see it. :p BTW you here for weight loss or building up?

Welcome to the forums! Running all at once may be a little tough on your joints, you can do very fast walks instead if you need to. You might want to check out as well, it lets you keep a record of everything you eat all day long, all your exercises, etc, and then kind of breaks it down for you.

i guess i'l make use of my g0od fortune then.
im here to tone up an fatten down :p like most people here i guess, what about you?

Thanks man that link is cool and yes I won't run even in curiosity. +rep for the link :)

Mkvenner: Yeah same here I've gained extra fat lately after leaving college, sitting on computer whole day for 2 years. Stupid work. I could run near my house on roadsides but I'm afraid people who know me around will think I've gone crazy suddenly and joke.

tonymcclellan: Same to you, you know it. ;)

1) Make sure you take a picture of yourself now, you don't need to show it to anyone but yourself. Often people can't see their own progress unless they see old pictures of themselves (I'm guilty of that), being able to see the improvement through pictures will prevent you from losing motivation

2) Don't skip meals! Read the weight loss stickies for more info but the key to regulating your weight is to eat little and often. Calculate your BMR, then knock off about 500 calories; this will allow you to safely lose weight. Try and spread those calories out over 5-6 meals a day so your body is never starved.
p.s. It's important to do weight training while losing weight to maintain as much muscle as possible

Good luck :)
