I'm Ashley! I found this site because I was surfing around for some inspirational before-and-after photos and thought I'd join. I've been on the chunkier side for most of my life. I lived in the Caribbean from about pre-school thru 3rd grade so I was always running around on the beach, etc, and I ate like a bird so I was extremely skinny. In 4th grade, we moved to NYC and the foods were SO different. I didn't get a lot of exercise and since then I started packing on the pounds. In middle school it was really hard for me. Though I was never HUGE, I was extremely self-conscious when I was around my skinnier friends, etc.
I've been about 5'5 and 155-166 since at least age 15 (I'm 21 now) and I've always had horrible body image. This past summer I went on a new antidepressant, which happened to curb my appetite...a lot. I went from 166 in June, to where I am now, at 139 - basically by taking advantage of the fact that I'm often just NOT hungry and not eating. I feel so much better being able to walk into a store and come out with size 7/8 jeans instead of 11/12. I've gotten so many comments about how great I look and I FEEL better, but I also feel guilty, like I've cheated. I know my weight loss thus far hasn't been in the healthiest way, but I'm determined to learn better eating habits and try and stay motivated to work out regularly so I can keep off the weight I've lost, but also get down to my "ideal"/healthy weight (around 130-ish?) in a healthier way.
So, that's my story! Thanks for letting me share!
