I signed up to this Forum months ago, but have only started my serious effort at becoming more healthy in the last few weeks.

I have stopped eating dairy and processed foods, to a large extent. I am eating about a 70% raw food diet, which consists mostly of veg, fruit, some nuts, sprouts, rice milk.(I am eating fish a couple of times a week too) (YOu would be surprised how many delicious dishes can be made with these ingredients) It may seem extreme but my binge eating of bread, cakes, biscuits, cheese, mayo and all those types of food was out of control and I was gaining weight at breakneck speed, I was 236lbs 16 days ago, at my heaviest.

in the initial stages of my lifestyle change, I have lost 10lbs. This is a lot of weight to lose and I certainly don't aim to lose weight at this rate. I think in the initial stages of weightloss though these things sometimes happen. I am really hoping I will manage to keep to this lifestyle, I am walking to work every morning too (3 miles) and I feel great. So thats all about me, I am 32, 5'7, female, currently weighing 226lbs, and aiming to get to 150lbs. At a rate of 2lbs a week this should hopefully be accomplished by the end of November 2011.

Look at that, I wrote an essay..lol. I wish you all well in your efforts to be healthier and happier and hope to get talking to some of you along the way...

:hurray:

Sounds good, can you post some of your recipes. I think if i had some good fish recipes, I could handle fish, fruits, and veggies. I need to get back to watching what I eat too. You will probable lose fast at first, and walking 3 miles a day you will surely reach your goal.

Good luck to you!

Hi

Welcome to the forum. You sound like you have a plan which is fab! and congratulations on losing 10lbs which is a fantastic achievement.

You should start a weight loss diary - just cos I'm nosey and want to read about your progress :0)

Hi AG & JAG1980

Thanks for the replies.

AG, at the moment I am eating salmon every few days. I haven't managed to create much variety with the fish because the two recipe books I have for the raw food diet are both vegan. When I do I will post them. There are some good vegan recipes though. Raw foodists use spiralised courgette(zuchini) as a pasta substitute which I find quite interesting. With a tasty sauce on it it would do pretty well, with a fraction of the calories, but very filling and healthy. I never heard of that before.

JAG1980 I may indeed start a weight loss journal (depending what the scales say on Sat and how grumpy/elated I feel afterwards!!! lol) but I don't have time tonight as I'm up early for work tomorrow so I'm going to log out soon.

Catch you both soon. :gnorsi:
