I saw these in a sticky today, thought I'd answer and post! I am 22 years old and have been working out/dieting since June 09. I Played soccer for 14 years, and then completely stopped working out after high school. Since June, I've lost ~20 lbs. I started school full-time in Jan, and also work full-time so getting in a long workout is difficult. I sprained my ankle playing soccer 2 fridays ago, so running right now is not an option. I am hoping to get back into the swing of things strongly, starting Monday.

-- How do you want to accomplish your goal (what methods do you want to use)? Cut back on sweets & out to eat. and Come up with a workout plan I can stick to.

-- How realistic is your goal?I'm not really sure, I haven't weighed below 145 in over 4 years, and that was back when I was playing soccer 6 days a week, But i think with hard work and determination/motivation, it is possible

Do you want to lose weight for a specific life event such as wedding or reunion? Well, mostly for myself, but I really want to surprise my family at a wedding in Oct.
What obstacles could get between you and your weight loss goals? I work full-time and go to school full-time, and it is hard to NOT eat out after my night classes that don't get out until 8:45p.
Why do you think that you now have a weight problem? BMI says I am very overweight, almost obese.
What lifestyle changes do you think would help you lose weight? I need to stop eating out, and figure out how to cook healthily
Have you lost weight in the past? the summer of '05 I lost about 20 lbs, i'm not really sure how I did it, it just sort of happened. I was working as a lifeguard and playing soccer 6 days a week. but while working as a lifeguard, i was eating every 45 minutes, and it was all VERY unhealthy foods from the concession stand.
Why do you believe that you did not lose weight or you gained the weight back? I stopped exercising completely, began eating out more often (this was once I moved out of my parents house)
What, if anything, has not worked for you in the past in helping you to lose weight? There wasn't really anything.
Would you try writing down all food and drink consumed for a given period of time? Yes, I have tried, it didn't really help
Do you cook at home often? If so, what do you cook? Yes, baked chicken, ricem whole grain pasta.
How often do you go out to eat? Where do you go? probably 2-3 times a week. a local mexican restaurant.
What are your three favorite foods? anything high in sugar or carbs.
What are your three favorite restaurants? Chinese and mexican
What are three things you can do differently when it comes to food? choose what I eat wisely, eat mor fruits and veggies, eat smaller portions
If you woke up tomorrow and your body was exactly the way you want it, what would be different? Excess weight off thighs/lovehandles gone. Better posture. toned arms/abs
Do you eat when you are not hungry? Yes, I eat when I'm bored, or anxious
Do you binge eat (large amounts at a time)? Yes, I have been watching that more closely lately.
Do you hide your food or eat in secret? I used to, not so much anymore
Do you eat when you are sad, nervous, or depressed? Yes.
Do you eat as a reward? Yes! That used to be how I rewarded myself for a goal.
Do you eat while watching TV or using the computer? Occasionally
What do you normally eat for a meal? Breakfast - Bowl of cereal with a banana, Lunch - Turkey sandwich w/apples, carrots, oranges, Dinner - Baked Chicken breast w/ rice and brocolli
What type of snacks do you eat? Fruit, crackers, graham crackers
In terms of exercise, what, if anything, are you currently doing? Running at 6+ mph at LEAST 20 mins/day, circuit trainingfor another 20-30 mins
Where do you go for exercise? A local public gym? School/work gym? Home? local YMCA
What, if anything, are your three favorite types of exercise? Running, Stair climbing, playing soccer.
What is your daily/weekly/monthly/yearly motivation to move towards your goals? Just to get in shape period. I would like to see a lose of ~ 2-3 lbs per week
Do you have rewards for certain goals? Not anymore, they used to be all focused on foods. Like going to get a milkshake if I lost those 2 lbs a week.
