Hi, i'm Rigatarian. I've decided to make some changes.
I'm 17 years old, an incoming senior at my highschool. And, over the summer, Ive let myself go. I've always been a bit overweight, but this summer i'm up to 225 pounds and i'm starting to feel down. It's no fun to not like to look in the mirror, especially when up to now i've considered myself relatively good looking. I realize I might be a bit young compared to the common age ranges I've seen when i've been perusing this website, but I figure no age is too young to start making a change.
I'm a pretty active person. I'm on the varsity soccer team at my school (biggest one on the team) and I play a vareity of other sports with my friends. I have a beautiful girlfriend, whom ive been dating for almost 2 years now, and shes one of the reasons i've decided to try to lose weight. I look pretty gross next to her, although shes never complained.
Well, enough about me, onto my goals and aspirations.
As i've said before, I weight 225 pounds. My goal, by the end of the year, is to way 175, which is a 50 pound drop. I would like to get around 15 pounds of that done by the beginning of september, which is the beginning of school, and the beginning of soccer season.
So far, I have no plan of exercise or meals. Because of my age, I usually eat what my parents serve for dinner, but have pretty free range about what I eat the rest of my time. However, these few days before I joined this forum, i've started taking my dog for longer walks, taking stairs 2 at a time, and i'm not eating any dessert after dinner. Also, once soccer starts again, I'll be doing hard running for 1 1/2 hours a day 5 days a week for practice, which I feel is a pretty good program.
My main problem is, when im hanging out with friends and we get food, I generally eat way too much just because of the environment i'm in. I eat while not thinking about it. If i could work on that, I think that I could lose serious weight quickly.
Any tips on any of my aformentioned issues would be greatly appreciated, and I assum i'll be posting more on this website as the weeks go on. I hope, so badly, that I can actually complete my goal, and I hope that the people on this website can help me. Thanks a lot to anyone who reads this.
