Hello Everybody! Newb here!

Hello everyone, I am starting my resolution a little late. There was a little hiccup in my weight loss start lol *cough* In-n-Out *cough* I am 21 years old, 6 ft tall, and a whopping 327.6 pounds! Which according to the guy at Herbalife is roughly 197 pounds of muscle, but he got that number from standing on this scale holding these two hand things attached to it. Anyways I have obviously "tried" to lose weight before, but I always just did it alone, with nobody to talk to or lean on and it never lasted more than a week maybe? I think if I were to keep a blog of it and be in a community of people with who are all there to help one another who have experienced weight loss then maybe I will be able to stick with it. I think being obese is a vicious cycle because you look at yourself in the mirror and feel bad so you go drown your sorrows in a nice big cheeseburger with fries and since you love the taste of things and cant make up your mind you maybe get two orders of fries too. Then you feel bad about it and rinse and repeat! Hopefully when I read more of the forums here I can learn to change my habits and mental view towards food. To get an idea of how bad it is, and how much I love to eat. More than a few times I have been torn between getting in n out burger or a chipotle burrito. One night I couldn't decide so I literally went to get both, went home and ate it all. The double double with fries and soda! AND a steak burrito! I am in a pretty dark place and on the fast track to those "My 600 lb life" documentaries on Netflix =0. I hope if I keep a journal here I can somewhat be held accountable to stick to living a healthier lifestyle. and work towards being healthy so I can get the girl of my dreams! LOL but more about that in my blog! My other goal as well is to get fit enough to join either the Marines or the Army (queue debate for those of you who have served in either branch).

That IS the most scientifically accurate method being used by the industries top professionals, HAHAHAHA.

Welcome to the forum. You have a blog? You should start yourself a journal (unless that's what you mean by blog, I don't know). Keeping a journal is a great way to keep in touch with many of the supportive people here on the forum. Most of us do a pretty good job of looking out for one another and providing a much needed kick in the ass when it's appropriate.

I can relate to the whole In-N-Out vs Chipotle thing. "Hmm, should I have a delicious burger and fries or a big ass burrito?"

Yeah, I've been there. And, that's one of the many reasons I got so heavy - I had no control. But, that's one thing you learn to gain here on the forum - control. Not just of the meal choices you make, but of your life in general. I can honestly say that, without this forum, I would've been a lost cause - a morbidly obese lost cause - a long time ago.

Welcome aboard, friend. I look forward to seeing your progress.

Ive done the very same things before. For me I eat out of boredom because theres not much to do where I live. It can be addictive sometimes as well, as those salts, simple carbs, and fats make you crave them sometimes. Like above, its probably engineered to be that way by the food industry. Good job on recognizing the issue at hand, and maybe with some thought you can find solutions to curb your addiction, boredom, sadness, or whatever you may be dealing with to find a new healthier you. Good luck.
