Hey everyone!

I live in the UK, I'm 17 years old and I am freelance artist and illustrator who goes to College at this point in time.
I'm between 6 foot 1-2 weighing in at about 16 stone. I've decided to change my way of living as I have recently advanced in terms of work,
which has inspired me to continue this personal revolution through to the physical aspect of my life, before it's too late. I've signed up for my local Gym and will start going once I have finished my
last exam this Thursday. I am aiming to lose about 2-3 stone in a year and to shape up as much as possible.

It's Nice to meet you all, I'll be looking forward to talking to you!

Hi Delling, good to see you here! hope you get much good info in the forums. It's good you think about your health at such a young age, you will immensely appreciate it as you get older. The gym is certainly good but you can also do workouts on your own if you wish, a good walking or running program, biking and much more. Be careful of your food choices and quantity, try to cultivate the habit of eliminating foods that are empty calories which includes most of what they term sweets and "junk foods".

I like the phrase "eat to live" NOT "live to eat"

Hi Delling,
I just started too here too, I didn't expect to find another illustrator though. What are you going to school for?

Sorry for the late reply, I've been pretty busy. I'm studying Media, German and Graphics as well as doing an Internship for a Games company.
So it's a pretty well rounded mix to go further into the CGI or Game development industry. What about yourself?

That's a full plate, it sounds like you're well along your way. I went back and re-read you initial post and idk how I overlooked just how...courageous? dead-set? self-righteous? it sounded. Its really motivating because I've felt along the same lines of determination before and it really helps in a running-start sort of way when you want to get shi* done or start something new. So I wish you all the best, wish us the best.

Sorry, sort of a long winded response. To answer your question, I work for a graphic design studio doing product illustration, image manipulation and photography. When not at work I spend most of my free time drawing drawing drawing, which kind of puts me in a strange place because now I'm fitting exercise into the agenda, but I'm sure I'll make it work.

Is the game development industry a tough one to break into? Though from what it sounds like with your confidence and work-ethic, you should definitely have an upper hand.

Welcome to the forum.

I guess that you have been going to the gym for a few weeks now - so I hope that it is going well.

Knotty is right - you need to clean up your eating habits to successfully lose weight - as exercise alone does not tend to do enough to lose the 2 to 3 stones that you want to lose.

Cut out junk food and takeaways and try to eat more fruit and veg and drink plenty of water... As you get more into the swing of eating clean you can adopt other healthy eating habits too that will really help you both be healthy and control your weight.

Good luck with your project.
