hi everybody! i am a 43 yr old male that once tip the scale at 438lb. i gain all of my weight in my later years in my life due to depression, stress, and many other issues i had going on in my life. i can truly say that those were the dreadfull past and now im truly looking forward towards the future. this will be my first forum ever and im in the process of learning the computer language and not to mention on trying to learn the difference between post and thread. i trully hope we can do this weight loss together. anyways make today a better day!:hurray:

Hey ftendurance,

The depression and stress is well-known by me. One thing that has helped me out is to slowly start building good eating and exercise habits. The easiest habit to start is by drinking a couple of glasses of water before each meal.

It gives you the water you probably need and most usefully it cuts down your appetite before you even start eating. Do it today. Pour two glasses of water and drink them before you eat. You won't eat as much. Pretty soon it becomes a habit. It did for me.

What is your weight and what is your goal after you have lost weight?

Hi ftendurance.

Hi, I totally agree with the great advice that dobner gave you. Apart from water helping to fill you up, it will also help you to pee out body fat and toxins, so the more you drink......
Good luck :)

Hi

Hi, I hope you are well and still losing weight. Here's a great tip for you....It has been found that Green Tea can speed up the metabolism by increasing the amount of fat you burn by up to 10%. This occurs when you drink 3 to 4 cups a day. Even if you dont like the taste, its worth a go if it works for you.
Good Luck

Hey lovelea,

Thanks for the green tea idea. Do you have a source (link) for the proof that this actually works/

Thanks

Ftendurance, it's great to see you join. But where did you go? Please don't say that you have lost hope already. Right now, you have a forum full of those that are in the same shoes as you. Yes, I have not hit the scale as high as others, but we all are wanting to be healthier. Good luck to you and if you have any questions, throw them out there!

One problem, cholesterol isn't fat..at least not the fat that you are trying to lose as far as weight.

Also, you don't pee out body fat. Fat in urine is very rarely seen. Yes you pee out toxins but not body fat.

Far as green tea for weight loss, this is from the Mayo Clinic:

Weight loss (maintenance)
There are several small human studies addressing the use of green tea extract (GTE) capsules for weight loss or weight maintenance in overweight or average weight individuals. Study results are mixed. Better research is needed before a strong recommendation can be made in this area.

Green tea IS good for you but don't look for results that aren't real :)

Hi Jericho,
I got the info about losing body fat through urine from a few articles that I read some time ago, but after seeing your last comment I decided to have another look around and found that you are spot on. You don't actually lose body fat through your urine but you do lose toxins, so Thank you for teaching me the true facts.:hug2:
