Hello and help! :)

I have been struggling with weight issues for several years now. As a teenager, I had quite the appetite, but I was only slightly overweight as I exercised on daily basis. When I finished high school and started attending college, I became accustomed to a more sedentary lifestyle leaving me completely exercise-less while maintaining the same eating habits. Needless to say, I gained a lot of weight.

I finally decided to do something about it and went on a diet three months ago. It is not very complex as I only started to count calories and keeping them under 2000 a day. It worked like a charm, and I lost 30 pounds in about two months. I weighed about 290 lbs to start. However, a week later I noticed that I did not lose a single pound during that week despite still being on the diet. I figured that my body is adapting to the reduced calories and that my metabolism slowed down.

I decided that I'm going to need some exercise if I'm to maintain my weight loss. Consequently, I joined the local gym and started to work out. I have been going to the gym 3 to 4 times a week doing 1 hour of cardio each session. I would go more often if it was not for my hectic schedule.

Sadly, I have only lost 2 pounds in the past three weeks since starting to exercise. I do not feel that it has so far been in vain since I have noticed an improvement in my overall health and a large increase in my endurance. I keep my daily calorie intake under 2200 hundred and burn about 500-800 calories at the gym.

How can I start losing weight again? I'm 6'4 and weigh 259 lbs at the moment. My immediate goal is 220 (maybe 200 in the long run).

Thanks in advance.
