Hello... and HELP

Hey everyone, I'm Amanda and I'm new here. I just thought I should post here so that people know who I am so it will be harder for me to find a reason to stop coming here :p I have a bad history of giving up on things, expecially when it comes to losing weight. I just love food SOOO much. I think it's time though. I'm in 4th year of my undergrad, and I've gained about 30lbs since I was in highschool. I really would like to lose this weight and get back into my old jeans!

Does anyone have any suggestions/tips on how to stay goal oriented and on track?

Welcome! I think the best way to stay on track is to write it all down, in a public space, like here! Our journal/diary/blog section is great. You can log your food, how you're feeling about food, your exercise, your current weight, your goals, anything at all. It certainly helps me stay on track. I, too, love food. Sooo much. I think my secret is turning my love of food into a love of healthy food. I still love to cook and eat, I just do it a lot healthier. Good luck!
 
definitely utilize this board. the support system is awesome and comes in several forms. you might find people who you constantly talk to, or just reading others' posts can help a lot too.
exercise-wise, find an activity that you can stick to, or maybe several that you like so you can switch it up and don't be too hard on yourself in the beginning. it can take time to get used to certain programs, etc.
i can so relate where you said you love food soooo much. so do i, but i had to make a choice, love all the food now (way too much) and not take responsibility for myself, or live longer and eat right. that's just what it came down to for me.
