Well I'm technically not new, I registered quite some time ago, but never really posted. I am back and hopefully dedicated enough to get this weight off once and for all. A huge difference for me this time around is that I have a gym buddy who is bone thin and a gym rat...LOVE this girl. Let's see. I'm 47 and have only been struggling with my weight for about 15 years, I used to be bone thin myself...fell into a bad marriage, horrible job, complicated child situation and here I am, 15 years later and weighing 300lbs...
What have I done in the past: Phen Phen, Low Calorie, No Calories, Weight Watchers, was prescribed those pills that make you ozze (but was afraid to try them) I've done paractically every form of Low carbing out there, but always return to Atkins, oh and HCB...still have that in my med cabinet. I'm sure there are more but I can't remember them all.
Last summer I had to have surgery on my knee, when I went to the surgeon he told me he would not preform the surgery unless I lost 42lbs, I weight about 308 at the time, that was in March, by June I had taken off 46lbs and was so proud of myself, he did the surgery and though I am quite often in pain, it is fixed. Since then I have been approached for a divorce, my child had gone off to college, we lost our home, I've had serious problems at work and find myself back at 298lbs.
Today is day 4 back strictly on Atkins and I've lost 11lbs, all water weight I'm sure, but I'm in ketosis so the real weightloss begins today.
I'm so glad to be here!
