New the forum here obviously and looking for a way to make this attempt at losing weight stick!

In addition to diet and exercise, I'm trying to put everything else in place to make this effort the lasting one. The fist thing I did was make this attempt public! I've started a column Losing It! over at the online paper that I run. (You can read it ) Sure it's a little bit of shameless self promotion, but the real idea is that I make my weight loss efforts public, so that it's harder for me to give up!

The second thing is joining this forum. Hopefully, through talking with people here, I can learn some great new strategies, and just have that extra support I need.
