Hello everyone,

I'm new to the whole forum thing. So a little about myself.
Im 22 years old and living in Bristol. Unfortunaly following finding the love of my life I have been enjoying the Comfort Zone a little too much!
I went from a size 10 to a size 14 in 8 months and havent been able to shove the weight since. :angelsad2:

So im here today for some advice from people who know what its like to feel the way i do now. horrible.

If you want to know anything else about me, please ask.

Love

Hi LittleM

A big welcome to the forum and I hope you meet all your goals.

I used to be a size 10 and around your age stopped smoking and the weight piled on and ever since Ive not taken my weight seriously sometimes weighting in around 12stone plus and I think we all have our limits when enough is enough. Could have been very easy to keep piling it on though and like you it makes me feel crap.

If you seriously start to address this issue now, you should find that you can get back to your usual weight and maintain it, the key is to maintain. As soon as you take your eye off the ball or go back to regular junk food land, its a no no and kiss goodbye to your size 10, yo yo dieting here we come. However, there is nothing stopping us from having treats, in moderation and pulling the odd few pounds back into line.

My biggest advice would be 'exercise' its a must to shift those pounds at the same time as healthy eating. Even a daily morning walk for around 30 minutes should help greatly. Lots of advice around this forum, Im just shaping myself back from 14/16 to a healthy and comfy size 12, cant wait. Lost over 10lbs just by using a daily diary on here and staying focused, wishing you well.

Welcome to the forum.

I have been here quite a while and have come down from 21 stone to 9 stone (that is UK size 32 down to size 10). There is tons of great advice here - check out the sticky threads in the different sections.

You are right to address this problem at your stage. I cannot tell you how much I wish that I had managed to do the same. When I first looked into the business of weight loss - it seemed to be all associated with diets that were far too low in calories for me to ever stick to.

Exercise does indeed make the world of difference.

Get a free account on to log your food so that you know what your calories and nutrition situation is.

Start a diary (in the diaries section) and visit other people in their diaries to see what others are doing and build a network of friends.

Lots of people find that they get motivation and sometimes direction from joining one or more challenges plus they are a great way of making friends too. I have just kicked off the Summer Shake Up challenge and you would be more than welcome to join in there.

Good luck with your project.

Best wishes
Margaret
