My name is Katie and I am 20 years old. I have been struggling with my weight for about 10 years. My mother was a perfectionist who couldnt bear to have a child that wasn't perfect. I wasnt that much overweight as a young teen..but her behavior toward me sent me into a deep depression ato nly 13 years old. She bought every work out tape, put me on every diet and every pill and every juice even before I was 18 (which is usually how old you have to be to do any of those things).

So my body has been pretty much messed up for a long time. I feel like having used all those things before I was old enough may have attributed to why its so tough for me to lose weight.

I have lost around 20 pounds each try and then something happens and I lose motivation..in my senior year I was doing it with my best friend and was losing weight really good and then I ended up working myself so hard I got mono and couldn't do anything for two months.

Then in college I was on my way again, looking really good and people were notice the little bit of weight I was losing..but then my ex fiance ended up cheating on me and I was back to being depressed for a while.

I am going to be a junior in college this year and I live with my boyfriend off campus and we bought a ton of work out equipment and healthier food and I feel like I can make a difference this time.

I have tried, succeeded a bit, and then failed time and time again. I have never been close to where I want to be but I know I can do it this time.

I hope to lose about 50lbs. I know its not hard because I have seen so many strong people on here lose more than that!

I hope I have the support of you guys here!

you can do it! 45lbs pounds shouldn't be too hard. and since you have a good support system you'll be able to keep it off. sounds like your boyfriend is a positive influence, that's good. keep it up!
