Hi Everyone!!

I'm 25, 5.2" , and at this moment I weigh 135 lbs! When I joined here (4th of Jan' 2009) I was 145lbs. My goal weight for now is 120lbs which I want to achieve by 1st April' 2009.

My Weightloss plan is very basic. Nothing too dramatic as I can't ever starve myself. 1000 Calories (Net) + Workout. So basically if I don't workout I can only eat 1000 calories in a day. I was never a 'big' eater anyway before so it's not like I made a drastic change. I've now substituted all the unhealthy things I used to eat with 'healthy' low cal stuff.

Another point I shouldn't leave out - I quit smoking on the 1st Jan too. One other reason for my workout and lifestyle change. :) I want to get my stamina and normal breathing back. (and clear out my lungs if possible):sifone:

The good thing is I'm not getting any cravings. (I was never an emotional eater) I'm doing pretty well as of now and I'm sure to keep myself motivated through this and everyone here.

I would love to know everyones goals and progress and I'll surely update mine too!

xoxo

Hey, congrats on the quitting smoking part! It's tough... I think that's one reason I gained 20 lbs last year. I've been smoke free for over a year now. My goals are in my ticker. If you have any questions at all, let us know...we're here to help!

Thanks!

Thanks Gator! I'm very proud of myself for keeping it up!
Congrats to you too! A year is just awesome!
All the best for your goals!
:)

Hey there! Smoking for me has been like my weight loss, a yo-yo. I'll quit, quit quitting, and on and on.

But, I am doing very well so far on my weight loss goals. :D You've done awesome as well! I think you're going to reach your goal and that's so exciting!

My short term goal is to lose 28 more lbs by June 20th. And then after that another 30 lbs in however long it's going to take me, hopefully within this year!

Take care!

That was one of my problems when I was in school. I'd work on losing weight and I'd smoke like a chimney... Then I'd try and quit smoking and I'd eat like a little piggie. Glad I focused on the smoking part first.

Crap are you trying to tell me I'm doing this backwards?! :p Just kidding.

I'll quit, I know I will. I think that since I'm getting healthier the smoking will eventually follow in my weight's steps... and pretty soon they'll both be gone for good!

Hey! I have tried both ways before - trying to lose weight before smoking and vice versa! I got SO freakin fed up of trying that I did both at the same time and it feels AWESOME! Esp - Now at the gym I've started running a mile everyday in 10-12 Mins @ 5.5mph! Feels good doing that without the heavy crazy breathing!!

I think you should try both together - GIVE IT A SHOT!!!! So you won't gain weight when you quit later... works well! :)

As for your goals - it seems VERY do-able! Good luck and keep me updated!!

You're right! I should just give it up! I think about it all the time... everyday... how can I quit? And I know I've just got to do it cold turkey and just be done with it.

I would love to feel lighter in the chest and breath easier while working out. I've quit before and it feels soooo good, I'm not sure why I just can't do it this time.

Oh Well - Atleast you're trying! :coolgleamA:
That's a start but I do strongly believe that stuff like weightloss and giving up smoking only happens when you want it real real real bad!! So I'm sure the time will come when you've had enough - especially since you're already thinking about it! :)

All the best!!

Not that there's any easy way to do it, but after several abortive attempts to quit smoking, I did the Nicorette gum thing and it REALLY helped. Smoke free for 11 years now.

Good luck.
Jim

Thanks guys. :)

I agree. You need to really really want to quit to be able to do it. Sometimes wanting just isn't enough. lol. I think I will try the gum... what's the worst that could happen?(besides being addicted to the gum then...) ;)
