Well this is all new to me. Not just the site, came highly recommended by the way, but a forum as well. I have struggled with my weight for most of my life. I am currently a good 80 lbs over where I should be. I am a nurse and I know what it is doing to my body. I try to stay healthy but life always seems to get in the way. I began putting a lot of weight on about 10 years ago when I needed to have my gallbladder out. I put on about 50 lbs really quickly and then over the next 5 years added the last 30. I swing 15 to 20 lbs one way or the other and held there the last 3 years.
I have worked the night shift for the last 8 years and in the last year and a half find myself doing the swing routine with all of my days off. A large part of my problem is that I never know night from day and sleep tends to come before a trip to the gym. I enjoy my time at the gym, but if I have to sleep and I stop on my way home even prescription sleeping pills don't work for the rest my body needs.
I would love any advise that others have found to be useful.
Thanks for your time and it is good to be here.

Welcome Crystalfire. I sympathize with the work hours...it can really mess you up. Any chance you can change shifts? What about working out right before work instead of after work?

Good luck and welcome.

There is no way to change my shifts. I sleep as best I can during the day. I am usually up at least 3 to 5 times. Includes making dinner and doing dishes. If I work out I am up for the day and I only have access to the gym until 8pm. As I usually get back to bed at 6-7 pm that does not work. I love my job, but I just wish that I could find more free-time.
It was better before when I didn't flip shifts, but I just am not able to sleep during the day on the days I work let alone on the ones I don't.
Thanks for the help.
