Hello All - Intro.

Hello everyone,

I thought I would introduce myself. To start, I am 24 years old, 6'2" and currently at 380; I have been "big" all my life, only recently have I put on enough weight to become depressed and feel as though I am unhealthy.

Throughout my teens and through college, I was actively involved with football. Over the past year or so, I have put on several pounds, be it through not conditioning every day or taking a desk job. I now have the desire to shed this weight to become the man that I wish to be. Not only do I wish to do this for my own physical and mental benefit, but I also want to lose weight for the benefit of my family. My wife and I are planning to have a child in the coming months and I do not want to be in the state that I currently am.

My "ultimate" goal is to reach 200 lbs, after strength training.

I have read over this forum and I look forward to the help and feedback.

Please look for posts to come.

Thanks

Good luck, man. In all honesty, its tough work, but it has got to be done. Losing weight isn't impossible...especially once you figure up your calories, etc. and get into a routine of working out (cardio is your best bet, but I would couple it with a weight lifting routine). Just make a plan, set some goals, and stand by them....you'll get there.
