Hello! 40 pounds to go! (long introduction)

Hello all. Let me start from the beginning...

I always had a healthy lifestyle, had an athletic build for a female (140ish), was in the Army so was use to the exercise and constant on the go. After the birth of my second child I became a stay at home mom. I never lost the pregnancy weight. To add to it I had three more children over the next four years.

I ended up tipping the scale at over 210 pounds. About three years ago I snapped out of it and started exercising again and started being aware of what I ate. I worked on making healthier choices and got moving. I got down to 170. When I moved and took a new job that required me to be sitting at a desk all day and I got back up to 190. When I realized the weight was creeping back on I started to go back to watching what I ate. Paid off and took me back down to 180.

In May I started walking/ jogging a few days a week. I really wasn't watching what I ate so I don't think it did much to help me lose weight. When it got cold out (October) my walks/jogs turned into occasional trips to the gym. I hurt my back in mid November and stopped doing anything. The good thing is my weight didn't really creep up much.

A few weeks ago it just hit me, a feeling like I had last time... I am ready to get fit. So I have actually been counting my calories, staying low and adjusting to my activity. I would like to lose weight from diet and maybe little activity. I know once I have it off it will require commitment of exercise to keep it off. I am scared that if I work hard getting it off through diet AND exercise that I will have to exercise even more to keep it off. I hope that makes sense.

Anyway I am sitting at 170 now with a goal weight of 130. I have been reading through the forum, and will continue to read. Thanks for all the help, ideas, and support!
