Hey everyone,

I found this forum while searching for some random weight loss thing on google and decided to join since I've been going at my weight loss battle alone. My family is sick of hearing me ramble on about weight related things, but I love talking about it!

I am 24, just got married last July, and before I got married I lost 45 pounds - which put me at 135.

I started out at 180 and decided that I didn't like that number and never wanted to see it again, so I joined a gym and hit the ground running. Surprisingly, I didn't burn myself out immediately and kept on trucking!

I began by doing A LOT of cardio. I used the elliptical machine like it was going out of style. Slowly I branched out to the different types of ellipticals and started some light weight training. One of my friends started running, so I tried it out, and I found that actually enjoyed it - yikes!

I ran a few 5k's this past summer, started running at least 2.5 miles around my neighborhood at least 3 times a week, and now that it's FREEZING OUT (Hello, Chicago!), I go to the gym at least 4 times a week. Unfortunately, I'm now BORED TO TEARS on the stationary machines, so I need to change machines every 20 minutes or so. I'm also focusing more on weight training so I can beat my husband at arm wrestling.

Ultimately, I'd like to be in the 120's, but I'm not going to kill myself to get there.

Anyway, enough jibber jabber - Here's to our skinny jeans!

Welcome Laura! Awesome to hear about your weight loss originally. I bet that was WAY exciting for you! And congrats on being a newlywed!

I know what you mean about going it alone. Up until a month ago, I was too. It's really difficult and downright frustrating when you have to fly solo. It makes you want to eat more, you know?

I do hope you'll feel comfy here. Everyone is so wonderfully supportive and motivating. It's definatly worth spending hours a day here. LOL.
