Heart pounding abnormally(?) from explosive motions

Hi,
I am having a situation that is concerning me and may require adjusting my training, at best, or medical inquiry at worst. First, the situation, and then a brief overview of my training.

I am 44 yo. I am noticing that in the last 6-12 months, whenever I conduct any explosive motion from a resting state, I become extremely fatigued, or out of breath, beyond normal or what I am used to, very quickly. I train in Brazilian jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai/kickboxing, so explosive motion is integral. This is anything from martial arts combat style explosive motion, to simply jogging up and down stairs.

My heart starts to pound exceptionally hard (in fact this is happening often at any state), and I am temporarily exhausted and winded. I'm sure this is normal to some degree, but it is relatively new to me, and I wouldn't be posting this if I weren't concerned. I feel it is beyond normal, or what I am used to. Something has changed.

I have been training intensively in martial arts for about five years. At times 4-5 days/week, but in the last 6 months, like 2-4 days/week. My endurance cardio is ok, but obviously not as strong as the 25 yr olds in my classes. I occasionally go for long intense bike rides. My body, in general, is starting to feel fatigued more often, and I can't train as hard as a couple years ago. Maybe at 44 there is some turning point.

Metabolically I would say I am a person of medium energy. I am not a high energy, or an intensive triathlete type in general, but I have always been moderately athletic. Martial arts whips you into shape. I am 5'10", 180. Not lean, but not stocky. Good build, slight belly.

I eat healthy, but not severely strict. No sugar or processed foods. I juice, smoothie, eat my veggies, hydration, etc. Maybe I could improve this more, but I eat pretty clean. Nothing in my diet indicates the condition described.

I'm basically wondering if anyone has fitness/medical experience to have a general idea what this could be. I do not expect a definitive answer just some ideas to point me in the right direction. Thank you.
