Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger: Full On Thanksgiving

Part of my weekend ritual is to watch Everyday Italian and then the Barefoot Contessa (I would easily trade for a day in the life of Ina Garten... I adore her!) before I go shopping. After Barefoot they used to show Tyler Florence (another of my faves) but a couple of weeks ago they replaced that with Healthy Appetite with Ellie Krieger. I don't usually watch it because her personality doesn't grab my attention, but I've been trying to watch the Thanksgiving shows on the FoodNetwork. Below is the link for her Thanksgiving dinner. Unfortunately, I don't know how you are supposed to figure out the nutritional information but she did mention that the pumpkin flan is only 100 calories per dish.

Recipes
Asparagus and Parmesan-Egg Crumb Topping
Jewel Roasted Vegetables
Pumpkin Flan
Turkey Roulade with Apple-Cider Gravy

You can also catch the same show next Saturday on the Foodnetwork at 1:00 PM Eastern Time if you want to watch her make stuff. I'm sure that if you search her other shows for recipes that you really can plan just about anything you want. She made mac and cheese a couple of weeks ago, a caeser salad, etc. I hope everyone has a happy Tukey day:beerchug:

I like the stuff that she cooks... it's healthy without being bland...

I'm not sure where I'm spending Thanksgiving yet. It may be Oregon, maybe Montreal, maybe Denton, most likely Chicago, but I certainly plan on making the Turkey Roulade with Apple Cider gravy sometime when I'm at home cooking. It looked amazingly delicious.

Those look like great recipes. I'm pretty sure it will be the usual stuff for me since I'm going to my parents house for Thanksgiving. It won't be a big deal and I have no doubt I will not overeat. What was once a fun holiday just doesn't hae the same allure as it once did. We tend to meet out of "obligation" more than anything and I don't get too excited about it. I'll eat what will likely be Thanksgiving lunch with the folks and head home, they like to get it out of the way early.
