You guys still doing this? I'd like to join. A couple weeks ago I was at 208 and wanted to get below 199. So I was seriously thinking about it and then I got anxious and scared that I wouldn't do it so guess what... now I weigh 220. Yes. I gained weight just THINKING about trying to lose weight. So I started my diet yesterday and that is one step ahead of last time. What would be a good goal date? I don't want to make it so I fail you know?
 
Well, a healthy and moderately easy goal would be two pounds a week. If you can achieve that (or at least an average of that) then you're losing weight at a good pace. So, you need to lose 20 pounds. Assuming you can lose more than that a week, I'd say two months from now would be attainable. If you with less than that you'll really have to push yourself much harder. A month would be possible but you said you didn't want to set yourself up for failure so two months would be your best bet, in my opinion. See what other people have to say though :)
 
Tina (I think that's your name Redneckwoman and correct me if I'm wrong) the names are great! But what about the Terrific 30's? Just a thought. Also, I was down with it at first, but I think posting everybodies weight every time somebody loses (or gains :() might be a little clutterful. What if you make the first post of this thread with all the weights and then just update that one every time and you could post something !UPDATED! when you do. Once again, that's just a thought. :D

I SET YOU A GOAL FOR 2 POUNDS A WEEK SO IF YOU GET THERE SOONER THAT IS EVEN BETTER! I SET IT FOR MEMORIAL DAY FOR YA!!!! IF YOU WANT TO CHANGE IT LET ME KNOW AND WELCOME ABOARD AMANDA AND NENARENE:):):):):):):):)

Hey, does anybody know how many calories a person burns a day without exercise, just daily living, cooking, cleaning, showering, going to the store?? I know theres no way to be accurate there but I was curious of a general ballpark figure. Thanks.

That works for me! Thanks for the help everyone and the warm welcomes.
 
I think that in general you burn around 1500 cals per day. Of course it depends how much muscle you have on your body because muscle burns more calories at rest than fat. It takes 3500 calories burned to lose 1 pound. So if you think about it I have 'lost' 136,500 calories! Sounds so exciting.

I usually use www.fitday.com I dont know how accurate it is but you can get estimates on everything from washing dishes to driving.. to shopping.. Anyway I hope that helps!

Hi folks, I just wanted to say my ticker isn't lying, but we had a scare last week. I didn't, in fact, gain weight, and maybe tomorrow I'll report it even lower if the number from this morning sticks (I'll keep you all waiting!!!) Anyway, have a lovely day please & keep headin' for the 100s!
