Having Trouble Dropping Weight

I have been training and dieting for 5 months now. I have gained a total of 5 pounds and have not lost a single pound. I need to lose about 15 pounds to reach my goal weight. Here is my exercise regime:

Mon AM - Elliptical (40 min)
Mon PM - 1 Hour Spin Class

Tue AM - Wieghts

Wed AM - Elliptical (40 Min)
Wed PM - 1 hour Kickboxing

Thu AM - Elliptical (40 min)
Thu PM - 1 hour BOSU Class

Fri AM - Elliptical (40 min)

Sat AM - 1 hour Spin class
1 hour sculpt class

I watch what I eat. I eat around 1200 claories per day. I have eliminated sugar from my diet and I drink around 1 gallon of water per day.

I am very frustrated that I cannot lose a single pound. I do not know what else to do. Can anyone help me please?

1200 does seem low and is too low for most people. You also have a lot of the same cardio activity. I recommend having different cardio intensity levels throughout the week.

You also do not mention anything about your weight routine. How many sets/reps, which exercises, etc.

Gaining 5 pounds- do you know if you gained fat or muscle? You would know this by knowing your starting body fat % and your current body fat %.

Nutrition obviously plays a major role in this. Personally from your description above I would suggest an overhaul of your exercise routine and an increase in calories.

Eliminating sugar is good and so is drinking lots of water. I regularly post 5 tips to fat loss on these boards. Check out some other posts for it or PM me for them.

I know it seems wierd to increase your calories but that might be it. You are obviously very fit to be able to handle all that cardio work. Just fantastic! You might find that your body is in a starved state and has become very efficient at storing fat. If you increase the frequency of your meals and eat more lean protein (careful - work with a nutritionist on this!), your body will not store that energy as fat and will either build strength or burn it as energy. If your body knows that it will get another meal in three hours, it will no longer store that energy as fat. You will only have well sculpted, lean body mass.
Trainer Lynn is very asute to ask if that extra weight is muscle or fat (muscle is so much more dense, you could drop a dress size but gain a pound). How many inches have you lost? I do not necessarily subscribe to the "bodybuilding" form of fitness, I am more athletically focused. You could try Global Fitness.
They might have more info or help you answer some questions.
Either way, to be able to do all the things that you do week after week is just plain impressive! Really, nice job.
