Have you ever felt......

Position, Position, Position

So I have had those moments, both when I am in a picture and when I see myself in a window or whatever when I am out shopping. Anyone will tell you, those myspace pictures that are angled where the girls are all looking up and you can't see anything past their shoulders, they make them thinner looking for two reasons. Mostly because not too many people I know have fat face syndrome, where all the fat goes straight to their face. And secondly, because looking up makes sure there are no double, triple, quadruple chins. Heh. It is the same factor, only in reverse when you have your picture taken or look in a shop window. It's cause you are usually, if you are anything like me, at the most unflattering angle possibly when you look or the shutter clicks closed. So take those images and throw them out the window.

Besides, haven't you ever heard of faking it til you make it? If you think you are thin, sexy, beautiful, and fit you will eventually work to make the outer match the inner. Because when you feel confident, you are more likely to take care of yourself, stress less, and eat better.

I have plenty of those moments! I am quite often brought to tears by them and defiinetly reduced to walking with a slouch. I try to avoid all mirrors but some (ie in the gym) are just unavoidable and it can kill your workout when it begins next to/facing the grossest thing you have seen all week!

I used to have anorexia, my BMI used to be 13.5, it hovered around 15 for a long while on my last relapse and I'd still get fat days- only if was slightly different as I could reassure myself "my BMI is X and I am not fat" but it left me with the destinct impression that all mirrors were not created equally and some are just horrifying.

Unfortunetly its no longer possible to convince myself its the mirrors fault- my BMI is heading for overweight and I can't seem to stop it. Freaks me out as I have cut so much out of my diet out of fear and repulsion to how I look yet I still continue to gain weight...
