So I just joined up here and I have been dieting for about two weeks. Last week, I lost nearly 8 lbs and was thrilled. I am now halfway into the second week and I am shocked to see that I have GAINED back one pound. I am eating about 1,000 calories a day (or less) and trying to work out a bit, too, and I am so discouraged to see the scale go up when I am giving what is a big effort for me.
Maybe I am overreacting--has anyone else had experience with weight gain this soon after starting a diet? I figured it would be a slow and steady decline, decline being the key word. I am eating way fewer calories than usual and exercising more than usual, also drinking plenty of water. Any ideas?
If anyone is curious, I'm 5'4, 23 years old, 180---oh no, wait, 181... lbs. Blah!
