Hi All!
I'm Valerie, a 24 year old student in Joliet, IL. After my divorce, I started really putting the weight on.
I'm currently a student, I'm doing the C25k program (at the end of week 3 currently), and I live with my Boston Terrier, Murphy!
Here's a pic of Murphy and I:
I'm currently topped out at 196 lbs. In high school, I was always naturally VERY thin, at about 115 at my graduation. After I got in my relationship with my ex-husband, we ate out a lot and I rapidly skyrocketed up to 150, and after my divorce, I'm where I am now, at 196. I can't stand looking at myself anymore... I even have a double chin now
I've tried Atkins, South Beach, and Weight Watchers, all several times. It's time for a lifestyle change!
My main goals are as follows:
-Cut out a lot of sugar
-Cut out fried foods
-Cut out restaurant foods
-Continue with C25K and complete my first 5k race!
I would also like to incorporate some strength training into my workouts for the week.
My obstacle is my anxiety - I'm currenly taking Abilify and Cymbalta, and the Abilify has caused a MARKED increase in weight, by at least 15 pounds, since I started taking it a year ago. However, I have tried to go without it, and it's just not worth it to me to feel horrible.
Looking forward to talking to you! I've found these support forums to help A LOT!
