Oh well, I hadn't thought to post any of that stuff

. Well, I guess it all started when I had to get on a certain medication a few years ago. It made me gain 20 pounds just like that. I freaked out and decided I didn't need this medicine anymore so I took a year off. Well, that didn't work out so great either because my body went crazy and I had to go back on it. I am 5'10 and had gone down to 170 pounds when I quit taking my prescription. Then last year when I got back on it, I gradually gained my way back up to 198. I'm pretty tall so it doesn't look like that much weight on me, but I'm super unhappy and I know it's really unhealthy for me to be this overweight.
Earlier this summer I had tried to remedy the situation by counting calories. It seemed to work; I felt much better, but never actually lost anything. Then tropical storm Fae came to Florida and trapped me in the house for two days and I did nothing but eat the entire time (It didn't even SPRINKLE here and they had us convinced it was the apocalypse). So that got me off of calorie counting.
My fiance and I have recently started walking at least three times a week for at least three miles and we usually run part of it. I've been feeling pretty discouraged though as I have actually gained a pound back from where I started with the calorie counting.
My new plan, is to continue walking (I really want to join a gym, but I just can't afford it right now :-(), start drinking WAY more water, COMPLETELY cut the soda (I had only been having like one coke zero a week, but I'm done with that too), and go back to physically writing down what I eat. I do some sort of count in my head, but I think it is more effective when I see it there in front of me. For my height, age and weight, I should be able to eat OVER 2000 calories to stay where I'm at and I've tried cutting to 1300 (no dice) then 1500 (still no good) and 1700 (not so great either). I'll probably keep it around 1500, but I would definitely appreciate any advice on any part of my plan thus far (if anyone could still possibly be reading this lol).
Oh yeah, and I guess my goal would be to get at least back down to 170, but I think 155-160 would look totally killer on me
