Hair Oil question

Hi ,

Now my question may sound very funny and stupid to some ppl but I wanted to clarify this with some experts.

Background : I have been loosing weight by exercising and diet control for the last 6 months and have lost about 23 kgs (55lbs) so far. I need to loose another 10 kgs.

Situation: I have had dandruff for several years

Question : is applying Hair Oil the same as consuming (eating) Oil ? I mean does the oil applied in the hair find a route to the blood stream ?
While calculating total calories consumed in a day do I add the calories from the oil applied on the hair and skin also ? (as one tablespoon of oil has loads of fat and calories)

Looking forward to replies from the experts !

I would be very surprised if someone where to prove that putting oil on your hair impacted your caloric consumption.

Have you spoken to your doctor about your itchy scalp? It could be just a dry scalp or there could be something else going on that it signaling. Sometimes surprising simple things can signal a medical issue. You might be in perfectly good health, and I hope you are, but it doesn't hurt to make sure of it.

Applying oil to your skin will not affect your caloric intake.

As far as the dandruff there could be a few things in play such as seborrhoeic dermatitis, psoriasis, or even a fungal infection. If you haven't talked to a dermatologist about it, I would suggest it.

I had dandruff for years but I switched my hair gel and voila problem solved. If the oil gives you temporary itch relief, thats ok but it's always better to get rid of it.
